People. Don't worry about leaving the top of the jug open during primary fermentation. You can put a napkin on top, secured by a rubberband, which will keep dust out. Yeast needs lots of oxygen in order for the yeast to work efficiently. There is so much CO2 being produced during primary fermentation that mold has no chance to form.

unfortunatebeam-this is the winemaker.always remember plastic is used in most food products for ketchup,mustard,meat productsand water bottles,soda bottles.You name itand plastic has something to do with it.Wine is fermented in glass.The only time iuse plastic is for the first 3 days.vallo3838

I know that plasitc is built to last like a twelve wagon puller. But it comes from Oil yo. And I don't eat or touch or look at anything that comes from oil. oi. Yes, I know, it's all over my body, So I don't eat, or touch, or look at me body.........I guess I must be drunk of home wine.
